• Punta Cana International Airport

  Punta Cana International Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto Internacional de Punta Cana) (IATA: PUJ, ICAO: MDPC), is a privately owned commercial airport in Punta Cana, eastern Dominican Republic. The airport was built with open-air terminals and roofs covered in palm fronds. Grupo Puntacana built the airport, which was designed by architect Oscar Imbert, and inaugurated it in December 1983. It is owned by Grupo Puntacana and became the first privately owned international airport in the world. The airport is the busiest in the Dominican Republic, and the second-busiest of the Caribbean, only behind Puerto Rico's Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport. In 2022, more than 8.3 million passengers (arrivals and departures combined) passed through the terminals that year, with almost 50,000 commercial aircraft operations. In 2023, the airport accounted for 60% of all air arrivals in the Dominican Republic. The airport serves 90 airports in 26 countries.

• Punta Cana

  Punta Cana is a resort town in the easternmost region of the Dominican Republic. It was politically incorporated as the "Verón–Punta Cana Touristic Municipal District" in 2006, and it is subject to the municipality of Higüey (La Altagracia Province). According to the 2022 census, this township or district had a population of 138,919 inhabitants. Punta Cana is the second-most popular tourist destination in Latin America, with more visitors than any other city in the Caribbean region. The Punta Cana International Airport is located about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) inland, on the highway that leads from Higüey to La Romana. This airport receives 64% of all flights that arrive in the Dominican Republic, receiving more passengers than the Las Américas International Airport, located in Santo Domingo, the country's capital. The area is known for its white sand beaches, blue turquoise waters, and balnearios which face both the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. The weather is hot for most of the year, especially in late summer and autumn when the Northern Tropics receive their most direct sunlight.

• Barceló Bávaro Grand Resort

  Barceló Bávaro Grand Resort, also known as Barceló Bávaro or simply as Barceló (in the surrounding areas), is a luxury hotel and resort in Punta Cana in the municipality of Higüey, in La Altagracia Province on the east coast of the Dominican Republic, owned by Barceló Hotels and Resorts. Established in 1992 at a reported US$250 million, it is one of the biggest complexes in the country. Since 2012, the resort had been dramatically renovated for a reported US$330 million.
