AdaptMe

About AdaptMe

Feel at home, anywhere.

AdaptMe helps travelers and people relocating abroad understand local customs, navigate cultural differences and connect with the communities where they land. We combine cultural insight and local knowledge into a single free, multilingual experience.

Our mission

Cultural adaptation shouldn't be a luxury. Whether you're spending a weekend in a new city or moving your life to a new country, understanding local customs and connecting with the community should feel natural — not overwhelming.

We build AdaptMe so that anyone, in any of the six languages we support, can arrive in a new place and feel oriented within minutes.

How it works

Pick Travel or Relocate at the top of the home page and the whole experience adapts to your context — from the color palette to the destinations we surface.

Search any city or country in the world, get a rich card with a real photo, a short cultural summary, things to do nearby based on real proximity, and short trips to explore around it. Trending signals come from live Wikipedia page-view data, so you always see what people like you are exploring this week.

Our content is aggregated from open sources including Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons under their free-culture licences, and enriched with human-curated data for major destinations.

How we're funded

AdaptMe is free to use and we intend to keep it that way. To cover our costs we show advertising through Google AdSense. Ads are labelled and non-intrusive; we never sell your personal data.

Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what data ads see and how you can control it.

Who's behind it

AdaptMe is built and operated by a small independent team. We're travelers and expatriates ourselves and we build the tool we wished existed when we first landed somewhere new.
