• Courthouse (Ljubljana)

  The Courthouse (Slovene: Sodna palača) in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, is a 19th-century building in the central district of the city that has for many years served as the seat of various regional courts of law. The Courthouse was built after the earthquake in 1895 and it was renovated in the early 1950s. In the late 1940s, it was used for the show trials against opponents of the Yugoslav Titoist regime in the Socialist Republic of Slovenia. The most famous were the so-called Rožman trial in 1945, the Nagode trial in 1946 and the Dachau trials in 1947. The courthouse underwent an extensive renovation in 2007 and 2008. In 2008, Slovenian Minister of Justice Lovro Šturm announced that in three years time most of the courts of law housed in the building would move to new headquarters near the Ljubljana railway station.

• Province of Ljubljana

  The Province of Ljubljana (Italian: Provincia di Lubiana, Slovene: Ljubljanska pokrajina, German: Provinz Laibach) was the central-southern area of Slovenia. In 1941, it was annexed by Fascist Italy, and after 1943 occupied by Nazi Germany. Created on May 3, 1941, it was abolished on May 9, 1945, when the Slovene Partisans and partisans from other parts of Yugoslavia liberated it from the Nazi Operational Zone of the Adriatic Littoral. Its administrative centre was Ljubljana.

• Trams in Ljubljana

  The tram system in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, was originally built in 1901 and was operated until 1958. Slovenia was then part of Austria-Hungary and Yugoslavia, respectively. Work started in 1900 and the tram was put in use after postponements and without a special ceremony on 6 September 1901. The tram system's end came on 20 December 1958, when it was replaced in a ceremony by 12 buses.

• General Maister Monument (Brdar)

  The General Maister Monument (Slovene: Spomenik generala Maistra) is a bronze equestrian statue of Rudolf Maister that stands in a park at Liberation Front Square (Trg Osvobodilne fronte) in front of the Ljubljana railway station. It was created in 1999 by Jakov Brdar as a tribute of the City of Ljubljana to Maister, the first Slovene major general, who secured for Slovenia the city of Maribor.

  Radiotelevizija Slovenija (English: Radio-Television of Slovenia) – usually abbreviated to RTV Slovenija, RTV SLO (or simply RTV within Slovenia) – is Slovenia's national public broadcasting organization. Based in Ljubljana, it has regional broadcasting centres in Koper and Maribor and correspondents around Slovenia, Europe, and the world. RTV Slovenija's national radio services operate under the name Radio Slovenija, while the television division carries the name Televizija Slovenija or TV Slovenija. The names are sometimes Anglicized as Radio Slovenia and TV Slovenia, respectively. There are three national and four regional radio services, which can all be heard online as well. RTV Slovenija also finances the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra and the RTV Slovenia Big Band. The legal foundation for the institution is the Radiotelevizija Slovenija Act (Slovene: Zakon o Radioteleviziji Slovenija). It is the only public nonprofit broadcasting organization in Slovenia to operate both radio and television stations. The law also requires it to air radio and television services for the country's two indigenous linguistic minorities, which it does in collaboration with the regional broadcasting centres in Maribor (for the Hungarian-speaking minority) and in Koper (for the Italian-speaking minority). Approximately 73% of RTV Slovenija's funding comes from television licence fees.

• Ljubljana Mosque

  The Islamic Religio-Cultural Center (Slovene: Islamski versko-kulturni center), colloquially known as the Ljubljana mosque (Džamija v Ljubljani or Ljubljanska mošeja) is an Islamic mosque and cultural-center complex in the Bežigrad district of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is the culmination of a decades-long effort by the Islamic Community of Slovenia. A library, a classroom, an ablution fountain and the Imam's offices and quarters are included in the complex.

• Nebotičnik

  Nebotičnik (Slovene: [nɛbɔtiːtʃniːk]; English: the Skyscraper) is a prominent high-rise located in the centre of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and is one of the city's most recognisable landmarks. Its thirteen storeys rise to a height of 70.35 m (231 ft). It was designed by the Slovenian architect Vladimir Šubic for the Pension Institute, the building's investor. Construction began on 19 April 1931 and the building opened on 21 February 1933. It was, upon completion, the tallest building in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, and the ninth-tallest high-rise in Europe. It was and would remain for some time the tallest residential building in Europe. Predominantly a place of business, the Nebotičnik skyscraper is home to a variety of shops on the ground floor and first storey, and various offices are located on floors two to five. The sixth to ninth floors are private residences. Located on the top three floors are a café, bar and observation deck. The café reopened in July 2010, while the bar and a new restaurant opened on 2 September 2010. Floors nine to thirteen were sold in auction on 12 June 2007 by the Pension Fund Management (KAD) for €2,120,000 to the Australian company Terra Australis. The company hoped to restore the Nebotičnik skyscraper to its former glory.
